The Bahia Principe San Juan is set right on a mile of golden beach on the north coast of the Dominican Republic, and bordered by a lush mangrove forest just inland. In the evening, La Cana Lobby bar is a popular spot for an evening cocktail, and Cabaret Bar has an open-air theatre with nightly entertainment.

The resort boasts two free form lagoon pools, an activities pool, two whirlpools and two separate kids swimming areas all surrounded by spacious sun decks. Lounge chairs, hammocks and sunshades line the sandy beachfront, and offshore is a protective coral reef. Water sports offered by the hotel include sea kayaking, boogie boarding, sunfish sailing and windsurfing. Kids are kept busy with the Mini Club, which offers entertainment and organized activities for youngsters. Active guests can play a game of tennis, participate in organized sports, or workout in the gym. The onsite Marine Spa offers relaxing massage and body treatments and has saunas, a jacuzzi and plunge pool. The nearby Robert Trent Jones golf course spans 370 acres and has 18 challenging holes. Resembling a colorful Caribbean Village, the Pueblo Principal shopping and entertainment center is home to boutiques and sundries shops, as well as bars, nightclubs and a casino for gaming.
